Sustainability
we are committed to leading the way in delivering first-class sustainable experiences
We recognise that our business activities have an environmental impact. We also know that minimising any negative aspects of that impact can help protect the Earth.
our sustainability initiatives
We have become an Isla member, joining many of our colleagues in the facilitation of a more sustainable future for the events industry. Our in-house sustainability team is here to guide our clients and delivery teams through the event planning process. They ensure we are mitigating the impact of the projects we deliver and that we, as a business, are aligned with our values. We are proud signatories of the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge, committing us to reaching Net Zero by 2050. In 2024, we also updated our sustainability policy, strategy and roadmap.
- Aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13 – Climate Action. un.org highlights the urgency of addressing climate change and the stark reality we are facing if global warming is not slowed down.
- Auditing all suppliers with our comprehensive sustainability questionnaire, requiring that all suppliers are committed to reducing their emissions and providing evidence of this commitment.
- Measuring the carbon emissions from the events we deliver using Isla’s carbon measurement tool, Trace, and reporting the results to our clients. This will cover data on energy, waste, travel and transport, food and beverage and production materials.
- Monitoring and reviewing our policy and progress annually, using the ongoing learnings to inform our approach to reducing emissions and waste across our operations.
- Taking steps towards becoming a circular economy business by 2050, meaning we will reduce waste across all company owned operations and event deliveries with a goal of diverting 90% of waste from landfill and incineration, ensuring items are re-used/recycled or have an onward life.
- Utilising Westminster Council sponsorship to externally calculate our 2023 baseline year and set reduction targets.
- Providing Sustainability training to all staff as part of our development programme.
