How do Sandals Resorts address sustainability ?

At Sandals Resorts, we manage sustainability requirements through the Sandals Foundation, which focuses on education, community development, and environmental conservation in the Caribbean. This philanthropic arm promotes initiatives that engage our guests and local communities, such as the “Pack for a Purpose” program. We encourage visitors to bring school supplies and feminine hygiene products to donate to local schools and women’s centers, directly benefiting the communities where they vacation.

We also involve our guests in community activities like the Reading Road Trip, where they can engage in educational programs with local schoolchildren. Our Foundation emphasizes food security and sustainable farming practices, helping to educate the next generation.

On the environmental front, we participate in various projects, including turtle conservation efforts in Jamaica and tree-planting initiatives that have resulted in over 21,651 trees being planted since the Foundation’s inception. We prioritize marine conservation by establishing marine sanctuaries and participating in coral restoration projects.

Additionally, our Women Helping Others Achieve (WHOA) program is a vital part of our sustainability efforts, providing mentorship and resources to empower marginalized women throughout the Caribbean. Since our Foundation’s launch in 2009, we have invested over $90 million in more than 120 projects annually, positively impacting over 1.5 million people and reinforcing our commitment to responsible tourism and community well-being
