Q&A With Kate
What drew you to the events industry, and how has your career evolved?
From one event management module at college where I organised a small charity cricket event, I was hooked! The hands-on experience sparked my passion for event management, so I went on to study it at university. During my work placement with an event production agency, I worked across conferences, weddings, private parties, company celebrations, and more – I loved the variety, the creativity, and of course the people.
I went on to spend over seven years with a global media company, delivering content-driven trade shows in the health, education and technology industries. Working primarily in conference logistics, often across multiple time zones, it was an absolute whirlwind of multitasking, high-pressure, and fun, equipping me well for working in event agencies!
You recently came from an investment banking firm—what kinds of insights or skills are you excited to bring from that experience to what you’re doing here at Pure?
I’m excited to bring a structured, strategic, and client-focused approach to my work with Pure, helping to ensure both the creativity and logistics of each event are executed to perfection.
Building strong relationships was central to my work in partnerships and sponsorship, where understanding client needs and maintaining open lines of communication were crucial. This will be just as important in my role at Pure, where anticipating client expectations, fostering trust, and creating tailored experiences are essential.
What was the main challenge you faced while delivering events for an investment firm?
The main challenge I encountered was coordinating with the banking team, who had different priorities and a more traditional focus, while my role was centered on organising events to connect communities and to generate profit. This required careful communication and flexibility to ensure alignment between the two teams, but it taught me a great deal about balancing competing objectives and ensuring cross-functional collaboration.
You have joined Pure as a Content Producer, what is it that excites you about curating content for events?
What excites me most about curating content for events is the creative potential it offers. I see content as the driving force behind memorable experiences. The challenge of aligning content with an event’s goals and audience expectations is something I’m passionate about, and the ability to craft content that resonates, engages, and sometimes surprises participants is extremely rewarding. Whether it’s through storytelling, visuals, or interactive formats, content sets the tone and shapes how people feel and connect with an event. At Pure, I’m excited by the opportunity to bring fresh, impactful ideas to our client’s events, ensuring they leave a lasting impression.
What’s one thing you hope to bring to our clients’ events? How do you think your approach will make their experience even better?
With a strong foundation in both content creation and event production, my goal is to seamlessly integrate the two across our client’s events. By combining creative vision with a focus on smooth, high-quality production, we can enhance the overall event experience – making it not just memorable, but impactful from start to finish.
